Drum solo - A drum solo is an instrumental solo played on a drum kit. A drum solo may be set or improvised, and of any length, up to being the main performance.

Snare drum - The snare drum or side drum is a tubular drum made of wood or metal with skins, or heads, stretched over the top and bottom openings.

Cocktail drum - Cocktail drums were first put into production in the 1940s with the Carlton combo kit. It was a drum kit consisting of a vertical 20 inch bass drum, a snare drum, cymbal and other assorted percussion.

Snare technique - Snare technique refers to a style of drumming, particularly on the snare drum (and possibly drumsets). There are two basic techniques percussionists use to hold their mallets/drumsticks.
