Snare drum - The snare drum or side drum is a tubular drum made of wood or metal with skins, or heads, stretched over the top and bottom openings.

Cocktail drum - Cocktail drums were first put into production in the 1940s with the Carlton combo kit. It was a drum kit consisting of a vertical 20 inch bass drum, a snare drum, cymbal and other assorted percussion.

Ancient Fife and Drum Corps - An Ancient Fife and Drum Corps is a traditional, typically American drum corps that plays fifes and wooden rope tension snare and bass drums.
